The Women’s Leadership Summit Suriname 2022 was held on February 19th, 2022 at the Assuria Event Center. Our lovely ladies were also present at this event and we were empowered and happy to have received some practical tools to increase our knowledge, competences and self confidence.
CARREER CHOICE IN ENTREPRENEURSHIP AMONG FEMAL ENTREPRENEURS
As part of her master’s thesis in Business Administration (AdeKUS), Sheetal Ganput has conducted research into career choice in entrepreneurship among the young successful female entrepreneurs in Suriname. Observation has shown that female entrepreneurship is increasing in Suriname.
The social media channels (LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram) looked at new businesses started by women. On Facebook there are for example “groups” called “Female Entrepreneurs in Suriname”, “Ladies Talk”, “Academy for Women Entrepreneurs Suriname” and “Ondernemen 2020 Suriname” where the various entrepreneurs actively participate.
Sheetal chose to investigate the differences and similarities that drive women to start a business. Why do they want a career in entrepreneurship? Why do they want their own business?
Want to learn more about this research done by our very own Sheetal Ganput? Download the PDF document with the results of her research by clicking on the button below.
