Meet Nisha Soekha: Commercial Affairs Manager at Datasur

Nisha Soekha

Anyone who meets me quickly notices that I get energy from progress. I combine curiosity with decisiveness and see every challenge as an opportunity to learn and improve. I recently joined the Datasur team as Commercial Affairs Manager, a role in which I use my broad experience in business development, strategy and innovation to serve customers and partners even better.

A career built on strategy and innovation
With a background in Business Management and an MBA in Strategy & Growth, I have laid a solid foundation to help organizations develop further. During my MBA education, my thesis was awarded the Thesis Writing Award of the Association of Economists in Suriname (VES); A recognition that I am still proud of, and which underlines my passion for strategy and analysis.
I have acquired extensive experience in business development and strategic analyses: from financial feasibility studies and export research to process optimizations and digital innovations. In freelance assignments, too, I have always looked for ways to put new ideas into practice. “My approach is always the same: combining sharp analyses with practical solutions that really add value.”

From idea to impact – STEM with a heart
In 2021, I founded Young Engineers Paramaribo, part of an international educational concept that introduces children to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) in a playful way through Lego activities. More than 1,500 children in Suriname have already participated in our workshops and lessons. “I believe that learning should be fun.”
If young people see early on that technology and creativity go hand in hand, together we build a generation that is ready for the future.

Driven by technology and digitization
What attracts me to my role at Datasur is the connection between strategy, commerce and technology. I like to call myself “tech-savvy” and in my spare time I experiment with all kinds of digital tools: from data analysis to creative software.
What inspires me is that I now have the opportunity to work in the heart of Suriname’s digital transformation. With my business insight, innovative view and passion for digitization, I want to make an impact together with customers and partners.

A philosophy of collaboration
My personal motto says a lot about my approach: “Collaboration equals innovation.”
For me, working together is not only a way to achieve goals, but the key to real progress. When we join forces, the best ideas and solutions are created. This applies in education, in the business world and certainly also in the ICT sector.

Finally, in my role at Datasur, I want to connect strategy, technology and collaboration in a natural way. I look forward to talking to customers and partners about their challenges and opportunities, so that we can embark on this journey together as a digital transformation & innovation partner.
