Domain
“Domain names are the identity cards of the Internet, representing the face of each website. In basic terms, a domain name is simply the name of your web site. However, behind each domain name is a process that turns a local web address into a word or phrase that anyone can use to access your site from around the world. Domain name is a phrase or even just a word that people input in their browsers to be pointed directly to a specific web site.
TLD is a top level domain. It Is one of the domains at the highest level in the hierarchical Domain Name System of the Internet after the root domain. Also known as domain extensions, TLDs serve to recognize certain elements of a website, such as its purpose, owner or geographical area.
A subdomain name is a piece of additional information added to the beginning of a website’s domain name. It allows websites to separate and organize content for a specific function such as a blog or an online store from the rest of your website.
The Domain Name System (DNS) is the phonebook of the Internet. Humans access information online through domain names. A Domain Name System (DNS) turns domain names into IP addresses, which allow browsers to get to websites and other internet resources.
To transfer your domain to us, create a domain transfer order. Please note that in order for this to work, your domain needs to be unlcoked and we’ll need the authorization code from your current registrar so that we can initiate the transfer.
You can’t change your domain name once it’s registered. When you buy a domain, you register it for at least a 1-year period.
During this registration period, you retain the rights to that domain name.
This depends on the TLD. Registration of .com, . net, . org, etc typically take anywhere from 24 to 72 hours for the registration process, and within this process, the DNS replicate worldwide. After 48 hours, your domain will be visible on the public WHOIS database. .sr domains can be registered within a few business hours.
